Paratene™ Ca-Chelant Calcium Chelating Agent

Paratene™ Ca-chelant is an effective scale dissolver for water treatment systems where sulfate, carbonates and calcium silicates are present. Paratene™ Ca-chelant has an excellent iron tolerance as compared to phosphonate containing chelants that fall out in the presence of iron. 

Paratene™ Ca-chelant does not contain EDTA or any bio-accumulating components.

Methods of Application

Paratene™ Ca-chelant can be applied to water treatment systems as a scale dissolver in concentrations between 5 – 50% at temperatures between 20°C to 80°C. The contact time required varies and can be accelerated by increasing the temperature. 

Paratene™ Ca-chelant can also be applied to water treatment systems as a scale inhibitor in a dosage of 5 to 25 ppm. 

Paratene™ Ca-chelant can be combined with other Paratene™ products to satisfy site-specific challenges. Please consult with the Clean Harbors laboratory to determine the best application for your problem.
